Day Three
This morning, we got to sleep a little later. After breakfast, we cleaned up, packed and loaded so we would be ready to depart right after the worship service. New Wine performed several songs during the morning worship service, bid farewell and now we are on the way to Connecticut. Thanks, St. John Lutheran!!!
Lots of driving today through the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut. We had less distance to travel than previous days, but with construction and traffic delays, as well as a short “scenic tour” of Meriden, (aka wrong turn) we arrived at about 6:30 for a 7:00 performance. The Sisters of the Franciscan Life Center had supper prepared for us, and the kids have gotten pretty quick at setting up, so we only started about 15 minutes late.
The performance went well and the audience was very enthusiastic. They rewarded the group with a standing ovation, and then the Franciscan Sisters sang an amazingly beautiful acapella blessing for us. Wow!!
After the performance, we were able to watch a fireworks show in the distance as the city was celebrating its bicentennial. Thanks Franciscan Sisters!!!
