New Wine

New Wine is a youth drama/musical ministry of Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. The group’s name is inspired by the 5th Chapter of Luke where Jesus challenges us to get rid of the old categories in which we’ve thought about religion and our relationship with God and pour our New Wine into new wineskins. The group promotes Christian fellowship, friendship, and understanding among the students, who come from varied religious backgrounds and traditions. The group is starting it's 31st year.

In 2019 New Wine performed the production of Godspell and took it on tour all the way to West Yellowstone, WY and back, boasting  58 9-12th graders from area schools and representing several local congregations of various denominations.

In 2020 through the midst of the pandemic New Wine was able to be extremely creative in their programming to produce a movie version of the musical Children of Eden. The students put in so much work, and the outdoor movie was a huge success!

Jennifer Osborne, Musical Director

Hello! My name is Jennifer Osborne and I have been the Music Director for New Wine since 2017. I live in Esko, MN with my husband, Tom (pictured here with me!). We have four children, all of which have been involved in New Wine. It was truly a life-changing experience for them, so when Zion asked me to direct the music I felt called to accept.

I thoroughly enjoy working with the talented, kind, welcoming, and dedicated young people in New Wine. I adore them and they continue to impress me at every single rehearsal! God is ever-present in New Wine and I feel so blessed to be able to witness His miracles within this amazing group.

I have a degree in Instrumental Music Education from St. Olaf College and I am currently the Band Director at Stella Maris Academy and for the Families Enriching Education Together Home-school Co-op. I also direct all the youth music at Elim Lutheran Church in Duluth.

In my spare time I enjoy my precious family time, pontoon rides at my cabin, traveling with friends, playing trumpet, family road trips, and hanging out with my adorable pets.
